My name is Lynden Hoge (but I usually go by Lyndee). I am currently a freshman at the University of Oklahoma studying linguistics. As a linguistics major, I have to take classes in two different languages. Russian is one, and the other is yet to be determined. As an OU student, I am a Global Engagement Fellow, a member of Sooner Freshmen Council, a participant in Russian Club and Spanish Club, and I am trying to build up my involvement at St. Thomas More, the Catholic parish serving the University.
So far, my only experience abroad has been a much too brief trip to the British Isles, but I hope to leave the Midwest and the United States behind again in the next few years to explore new countries. Beyond that, I’m still trying to figure out what I want to do and the kind of person I want to be.
The future can be frightening in all of its uncertainty, but in the words of OU’s first president, David Ross Boyd, “What possibilities!”
